in the Hydroplus Soccer League, Yuki Kanaya Aims to Compete with Arema FC Women KU-15.

Surabaya (beritajatim.com) – The Tigers Football Academy KU-15 Women's team from Surabaya continues to demonstrate consistency as a serious contender at the top of the Hydroplus Soccer League KU-15 standings. Most recently, the Tigers secured a narrow 2-1 victory over Srikandi Mojopahit in a match held at Bogowonto Field, Surabaya, on Saturday (January 17, 2026). The Tigers' two winning goals were scored by Aimarch Yuki Kanaya and Yumina Naziya Fina. Srikandi Mojopahit, meanwhile, only managed to reduce the deficit through a goal from Azkadelia Queencira Vadelita.

This victory further solidifies the Tigers' position as a major competitor for Arema FC Women KU-15. One player who once again caught the eye was Tigers midfielder Aimarch Yuki Kanaya. The 14-year-old has now scored nine goals throughout the competition and is the driving force behind the West Surabaya team.  After the match, Kanaya revealed that she still has a personal goal she wants to achieve until the end of the season.

"My target is to score more goals than Kesya," Kanaya said after the match on Saturday (January 17, 2026). Despite being quite far behind on the current top scorer list, the SMP Negeri 21 Surabaya student remains optimistic about her ability to compete. She believes improving her individual skills is a key factor in achieving this goal. "I have to play more calmly, control my emotions, and train my left foot to maximize my shooting," she said. Not only focusing on her personal performance, Kanaya also highlighted the importance of team cohesion. She hopes the Tigers can perform more solidly in future matches.

"There are still areas for improvement, especially communication within the team," said the player, who idolizes German midfielder Toni Kroos. Meanwhile, Tigers Football Academy coach Sutikno commended his players for their hard work, but emphasized that evaluation remains a top priority.  "We appreciate the girls' hard work today. But there's still a lot of work to be done, from communication and distance between lines to issues with losing the ball," Sutikno explained.

The additional three points put the Tigers behind Arema FC Women in the current KU-15 standings. Tigers are in second place with six wins, one draw, and one loss from eight matches, five points behind the top of the table.

In another KU-15 women's match, LH Bulog Jatim Putri put on a strong performance with an 8-1 victory over Persida Putri Sidoarjo. Putri Meta also displayed complete dominance, thrashing Star Generation Putri with a resounding 12-0 scoreline. Meanwhile, Arema FC Women once again displayed their attacking prowess by defeating Persegres Putri with a commanding 15-0 scoreline. (way/ted)
